PURPOSE: To provide a color image forming device which obtains a color image whose image quality is improved by reducing a hue change at the edge of a black image and a blot.

CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with: an electrifier 2 which electrifies the surface of an image forming body; a laser writing-device 3 which forms latent images on the image forming body according to image data consisting of a plurality of different color data; and a plurality of development devices, A, B, C and D, which develop the latent images by the use of toners of different colors. The device forms a color image by repeating the superimposition of the toner images of the different colors and transfers all the superimposed toner images to recording paper P at once. For the order in which the toner images are formed, black data based on the image data of a black monochromatic part having no color backgrounds is first inputted to the laser writing-device 3, followed by cyan, magenta and yellow in that order, and lastly black data based on the black image data of an image having a color background is inputted to the laser writing-device 3.
