Title:
COLOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3046701
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent coloration of liquid crystal cells by deviation of white balance and to improve a display grade by arranging pixels in such a manner that four pixels are arranged as one set.
CONSTITUTION: An interference color filter 13 of three colors; red (R), green (G), blue (B), is used. The pixels are so arranged that the four pixels are arranged as one set. The G filters line up along the diagonal line of the two pixels and the remaining two pixels consist respectively of the R filters and the B filters. The color filters 13 of the two colors among the three colors are connected to the same row. The half-amplitude level of the transmission spectra of the G filters in spectral transmission characteristics is specified to be ≤40nm, more preferably ≤30nm. Namely, the white balance is improved and the coloration of the liquid crystal cells is prevented by narrowing the transmission wavelength region of the G filters. Further, the differences in level of the interference filters 13 of three colors are decreased and, therefore, the step breakage of transparent conductive films 14 is obviated and the adhesion property of oriented films 15 is improved.
