PURPOSE: To provide the color photographic silver halide duplicating element usable for forming a duplicated image capable of forming a printed image visually indistinguishable from an original image, especially, in a color motion picture film.

CONSTITUTION: (a) This color photographic silver halide negative duplicating element contains a magenta colored masking coupler in at least one blue- sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, and (b) (i) a masking coupler (ii) contained in at least one of the photographic silver halide emulsion layers for enabling duplication of the image by exposure capable of forming the printed image visually indistinguishable from the original image and processing of the above element, and this masking coupler is involved in color stains in this emulsion layer, and a process for manufacturing this element is thus provided.
