PURPOSE: To easily perform objective color correction by comparing picture data obtained by reading an output picture again with original read picture data to adjust the color of the output picture.
CONSTITUTION: A document is read by a color scanner 1, and obtained data is held in a memory 4. This picture data is actually copied by a color printer 2, and this copy is read as a document again by the scanner 1. Obtained picture data is inputted to a signal processing device 5 together with picture data read out from the memory 4. The device 5 calculates the difference between the color signal of the document and that of picture data of the copy and outputs a signal to chage a parameter for color adjustment in the color printer 2 in accordance with this difference. Thus, color correction is easily performed, and the variance of adjustment is reduced, and the adjustment time is shortened.
