PURPOSE: To manufacture a color platinum alloy having various tones excellent in decorativeness by using platinum as a base phase and uniformly dispersing a specified amt. of MB6 type bodies therein.
CONSTITUTION: Pt(platinum) or a Pt alloy is used as a matrix (base phase), and 30 to 80wt.% MB6 type borides are uniformly dispersed therein. CaB6 has black, SrB6 has black with greeny shadow, BaB6 has black with purplish shadow, Yb6 has royal purple, CeB6 has blue, LaB6 has purplish crimson, PrB6 has blue and ThB6 had reddish purple in their colors, respectively. Among borides, rare earth elements have tones with decorativeness in particular, furthermore, structural defects are hard to exist between them and the matrix, and they have good wettability.
