Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing position adjustment method for preventing securely the color shift of reproduced colors among respective color ink jet printers.
SOLUTION: Respective color inks can be jetted out of respective color nozzle groups of C, M, Y and K by the timing shifted from the reference jet timing by the given offset values in a color jet printer. First of all, an alignment patters is formed by varying the ink jet timing from respective color nozzle groups in compliance with a plurality of offset values and forming sample images of different printing for respective colors (S2), and then the offset values are determined in reference to the alignment pattern (S4). After that, a plurality of gray patterns, which are formed when the ink jet timings from respective color groups in compliance with a plurality of different offset values are varied are referred to (S5) to determine the final offset value (S8).
