Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact color thermal printer which can radiate heat efficiently and can be fitted in the bay of a tower type personal computer.
SOLUTION: A case 11 is formed into a thin box and a panel 16 is arranged on the front face thereof. The panel 16 is provided with a recording material insertion port 25, an upper air inlet 26 and a lower air outlet 27. Interior of the case 11 is partitioned by a partitioning part 60 into sections having U-shaped cross-section to form an air flow passage 64. The partitioning part 60 comprises inlet side paper guides 53, 55, a bracket 58 for fixing a thermal head 41, and a rear paper guide 56. A fan 65 is disposed on the underside at the rear end part of the rear paper guide 56. The fixing bracket 58 is provided with heat radiation fins 58a and a heat radiation part 28. Outer air is introduced through the air inlet 26 by means of the fan 65 and discharged through the air outlet 27. According to the structure, heat generated from the thermal head 41 can be radiated efficiently to the outside.
