Abstract:
To provide a composition and a colorant that can change color as clearly as possible with water or a liquid containing water, a method for producing the colorant, a color changeable body in which the colorant is retained, a moisture detection material and a material for coloring in which the colorant is contained, and a color changeable body to which the material for coloring is applied and to which the colorant is fixed.SOLUTION: A composition comprises at least an electron donating coloring organic compound, an electron accepting compound, and a coloring adjustment agent that interferes with coloration by the electron donating coloring organic compound and the electron accepting compound. The coloring adjustment agent is hydrophilic and can change color with water or water-containing liquid. A colorant comprises the composition held or supported by predetermined microbodies and can change color with water or a water-containing liquid, where the predetermined microbodies are such that water or a water-containing liquid can come in contact with the composition held or supported thereby.SELECTED DRAWING: None
