A

To provide colored master pellets extremely small in the variation of colorant density among the individual pellets, therefore suitable for giving optical molded products such as optical disks with little occurrence of color unevenness and color striae and good electrical properties.

The colored master pellets for optical molded products are obtained from a colored composition comprising a transparent thermoplastic resin (A-component) containing a colorant (B-component). The colored master pellets thus obtained include ≥90%, on a number basis, of the pellets whose colorant density is 0.5X to 1.5X (wherein, X is the average of absorbance as the indicator of colorant density in the individual pellets).
