To provide a colored photosensitive resin composition containing a metallic complex salt dye and a compound of formula (1) in a dissolved state and free of the increase of its viscosity and the lowering of its sensitivity even after long-term storage at ordinary temperature.

The colored photosensitive resin composition contains the metallic complex salt dye as a coloring material and the compound of formula (1) as a curing agent and it is obtained by dissolving the coloring material, the curing agent, an alkali-soluble resin and a chelating agent in a solvent. The chelating agent is, e.g. 2,2'-bipyridine or 1,10-phenanthroline and the content is usually 0.5-5 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the nonvolatile components of the colored photosensitive resin composition. The composition may be of positive type or negative type. When a film comprising the nonvolatile components of the colored photosensitive resin composition is disposed on a substrate, exposed and developed to form a colored pattern, the objective color filter is produced.
