PURPOSE: To obtain a coloring agent capable of coloring a shaped body, etc., like that with a stippling and without a massive aggregation by treating a surfaces of dyed or undyed organic fibers having a specific fiber diameter and fiber length with a treating liquid containing a lubricant consisting of an antistatic agent or a liquid paraffin, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Undyed or dyed organic fibers (e.g. with a reactive dyestuff) having 5-100μm fiber diameter and 0.1-2mm fiber length or tows of organic filaments having 50-100μm filament diameter are cut into 0.1-2mm length and surfaces of the cut filaments are treated by a treating agent using an antistatic agent (e.g. anionic, cationic, amphoteric, or nonionic surfactant and water soluble inorganic compound), a lubricant (e.g. aliphatic amide, aliphatic bisamide, etc.) or both of them to obtain a coloring agent not generating a massive aggregation so called fiber balls. The coloring agent can effectively express a stipple like pattern by drawing on a synthetic resin molded article, paper, etc. As organic fibers, natural fibers, synthetic fibers, semi-synthetic fibers, regenerated fibers, etc., are cited as examples, and a rayon, a polyester and a polyamide are especially preferable.
