PURPOSE: To improve separating power for optical isomer by forming a stationary phase of an optically active material to the inside surface of a capillary having 0.8W3mm inside diameter.
CONSTITUTION: The stationary phase 2 is formed on the inside surface of the capillary 1a which is made of quartz, etc., and has 0.8W3mm inside diameter by coating or crosslinking the optically active material corresponding to an analysis object to about 0.05W10μm thickness. Flexible capillaries 5, 5' having coating layers 4, 4' are inserted into both ends 3, 3' of a column proper 1 formed by coiling the capillary 1a and are hermetically sealed by sealing bodies 7, 7'. The other ends of the capillaries 5, 5' are inserted and sealed into different- diameter connecting tube 9, 9'. Large-diameter parts 12, 12' of the connecting tubes 9, 9' of such column are connected to a carrier gas flow passage of an ordinary gas chromatograph for packed column and the analysis operation is made in the same manner as for the operation of the ordinary gas chromatograph for packed column. The sepn. and quantitative determination are thereby surely made even if the existence ratio of the optical isomer varies largely.
