To improve the filtration capacity of the ultrafiltration membrane of a membrane treating device of an immersion type to be installed in a septic tank by preventing the adhesion of the extremely fine fibrous suspended solids flowing into the septic tank through the screen of the pretreating device of a combination treatment septic device to the surfaces of the membrane.
The section biased to the side where sewage flows in of the septic tank 1 in the combination treatment septic device is provided with a block wall 3 formed fully or partly as a grid screen of 20 to 80 meshes. A suspended solid removing chamber W for accepting the inflow sewage is formed by this block wall 3. Aerators (c) are installed at the bottom of this chanaber. The other side section of the septic tank 1 communicated with this suspended solid removing chamber W via the grid screen of the block wall 3 adjacent thereto is formed as a membrane separating chamber Y. This chamber Y is internally provided with the membrane treating device 2 and the aerators (c).
