PURPOSE: To provide a means for suppressing NOx to be evolved in the combustion of pulverized coal by a pulverized coal burner in an in-flame deoxidation system.
CONSTITUTION: Light emitted from flames, which is viewed from a nozzle 3 for pulverized coal, is led by a condenser 1 through the interior of the nozzle 3 of a pulverized coal burner 100 in an in-flame deoxidation system, and an emission strength is detected by an emission analyzer 16 to calculate a flame temperature 41b or an air ratio 41a, thereby controlling an amount of pulverized coal, or a volume of air, which is fed to the burner, or a particle size of pulverized coal to be fed to the burner. Thus, by calculating a temperature of a reducing flame or an air ratio and controlling the operation of the burner, an amount of NOx to be discharged can be reduced.
