To prevent red heat of a member (case, etc.) located on the end side of a combustion apparatus even in such a case that primary flame generated in the end area of a burner port forming part of the combustion apparatus is expanded due to shortage of air in a first combustion part.
This combustion apparatus 1 comprises a burner port member 3, an air passage member 5, and the first combustion part 46 formed by a space surrounded by the burner port member 3 and the air passage member 5, in which fuel gas in an oxygen-insufficient state is discharged to the first combustion part 46 through the burner port member 3 and burnt while receiving of supply of air from an air discharge opening 20 of the air passage member 5. The burner port member 3 has a lengthy burner port forming surface 30, the burner port forming surface 30 including a number of openings 33 arranged in a regular and parallel manner. The openings 33 near the ends are differed in at least either shape or alignment from those in the central part.
