To provide a combustion burner capable of reducing the generation of nitrogen oxide (NOx) in combustion gas and changing a combustion zone in a furnace, the method of combustion using the burner and a combustion apparatus having the burner.
The larger the flow rate or speed of a fuel or a fluid mixture of a fuel conveying medium and the fuel is, the larger the momentum of the combustion gas flow and therefore the amount of entrained air are. Accordingly, for example, the tertiary air channel outer wall 12 of a low NOx burner is displaced upward to reduce opening space and outlet area at the lower portion of the tertiary air channel and enlarge them at the upper portion thereof to increase the flow rate of tertiary air 9 at the lower portion of the tertiary air channel and decrease it at the upper portion thereof. The deviation in flow rate shifts flames (combustion zone) upward to raise the temperature of combustion gas at the outlet of the combustion apparatus. In this way, the tertiary air channel is shifted with respect to the burner axis to meet load fluctuation.
