Title:
COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND COMBUSTION METHOD OF CONDENSED TYPE COMBUSTION CHAMBER INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07208167
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve emission control properties and fuel consumption, by exercising the function of a reciprocation pump in cooperation with a cover side piston, at an adequate time immediately before the time when a piston having a small capacity of piston combustion chamber on the top approaches to the top dead center.

CONSTITUTION: This is a condensed type combustion chamber compression ignition engine made by reforming a two-cycle uniflow scavenging compression ignition engine, and a scavenging hole group 4 opened and closed by a piston 2 are penetrated at the lower side of a cylinder sliding surface 3, and a circular scavenging hole 5 is formed around the scavanging hole group 4. Near the center of the cylinder cover 7, a cover side piston 19A having a fuel injector 10 is projected, and the function of a reciprocating pump is exercised in cooperation with a piston combustion chamber 20A provided to the piston 2, at an adequate time immediately before the time that the piston 2 approaches to the top dead center. Furthermore, at the outer side of the piston 2, adequate number of exhaust valves 8 are provided. At the instant until the piston 2 reaches to the top dead end, the air is injected at a high speed into the combustion chamber 20A, and the injection fuel from the fuel injector 10 is churned and mixed, and burned strongly at a superhigh speed.
