Title:
Combustion chamber structure of a direct-injection engine
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6056841
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase of a cooling loss caused by a squish flow.SOLUTION: A combustion chamber structure of an engine 1 comprises a cylinder head 13 having a ceiling part 130, a piston 16 having an apex face 160, and a fuel injection valve 6. A ridge squish area 176 is formed between a ridge 163 of the apex face 160 and a crest 133 of the ceiling part 130. The apex face 160 further includes a tapered face 165 which connects a side peripheral face 16a and the ridge 163 while inclining so as to approximate a cavity 164 as progressing toward the ridge 163. An opposing part 134 being a portion opposing the tapered face 165 of the ceiling part 130 is inclined so as to form a tapered squish area 178 between the tapered face 165 and itself. An interval between the tapered face 165 and the opposing part 134 is expanded at a portion at the ridge 163 side compared with the other portion of the piston 16 at the side peripheral face 16a side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
