To provide a combustion device improving heating efficiency by accumulating heat of combustion gas in a combustion chamber.
In a pellet heater 10, high temperature combustion gas generated in a combustion chamber 30 by combustion of wood pellet once rises upward in the combustion chamber 30 and then falls and enters a gas passage 66 communicating with the inside of the combustion chamber 3 at an intermediate part in the height direction of the combustion chamber 30 (refer to an arrow mark D). The combustion gas that enters the gas passage 66 passes through air holes formed in a perforated plate 68, and rises in the gas passage 66 and is exhausted to the outside of the pellet heater 10 through the inside of a smoke cylinder 62 (refer to an arrow mark E). Since the combustion gas is thus exhausted after circulating in the combustion chamber 30, the heat of combustion gas is accumulated in the combustion chamber 30 to improve heating efficiency.
