To provide combustion equipment and a combustion method by the combustion equipment, capable of independently operating a flame holder for controlling holding of a flame from a flame holding burner and an opening adjuster for controlling a jetting speed of premixed air from a main burner.

The flame holder and the opening adjuster for controlling the jetting speed of the premixed air from the main burner, are independently operated. When a back fire is generated, the back fire is prevented by preventing reduction in the jetting speed of the premixed air by independently adjusting the opening adjuster and the flame holder. Thus, combustion vibration is prevented by sufficiently mixing the premixed air in the main burner. At the same time, the turn-down ratio is increased by reducing a premixed air quantity in the main burner. When a combustion flame in the main burner is a tendency of blowing away, the jetting speed of the premixed air from the main burner is restrained by independently adjusting the opening adjuster and the flame holder. Thus, a floating flame and blowing-away are prevented.
