To provide a combustion method of a stoker type incinerator which suppresses discharge of smoke, soot and dioxins by performing complete combustion in a final combustion stage in a secondary combustion chamber, also suppresses any increase in the blow-up speed by the primary air and generation of NOx by avoiding high-temperature combustion in a primary combustion unit, and reduces the quantity of fly ashes discharged into the atmosphere.
In the combustion method of the stoker type incinerator in which the secondary air is introduced into the secondary combustion chamber after performing the primary combustion by the primary air in the primary combustion chamber above a stoker, and the secondary combustion of unburnt gas or thermally-decomposed gas on the primary combustion side is performed, the volume of the primary air in the primary combustion part is reduced, the thermally-decomposed gas by the partial combustion is performed on the primary combustion part while setting the air excess ratio λ to be λ<0.8, and the thermally-decomposed gas is burned by the secondary air in the secondary combustion chamber.
