Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of a torque stage difference by calculating a fuel injection rate considering restriction of torque fluctuation generated when a combustion system is changed, in a device for carrying out control while switching the combustion system into a combustion system which is applied to an operating condition of an internal combustion engine in a plurality of combustion systems which are different from each other.
SOLUTION: A fundamental fuel injection rate is calculated by a fundamental fuel injection rate calculating means M4 according to an engine operating condition detected by an operating condition detecting means M3, and also a combustion system (stratified burning, weak stratified burning, uniform combustion) applied to the engine operating condition is decided by a combustion system deciding means M5 on the basis of the engine operating condition and the fundamental fuel injection rate. When the combustion system is switched, the fuel injection rate for restricting torque fluctuation generated due to change of the combustion system by a fuel injection control means M6, for example, a fuel injection rate for restricting torque fluctuation meeting to an intake air throttle rate, is calculated so as to control a fuel injection means M2. It is thus possible to restrict generation of torque stage difference generated due to pumping loss suitably.
