Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a combustion type heater that can improve exhaust emission remarkably at the time of the stop of combustion, by a method wherein when a burners is stopped, the fuel and air feed rates are respectively reduced to specified feed rates and those feed rates are kept for a specified period of time after the burner is stopped, and when the specified period of time has elapsed, fuel feed is stopped, and the air feed rate just before the stoppage is kept for a specified period of time.
CONSTITUTION: When receiving a combustion stop signal, a controller 6 reduces the fuel feed rate to Qf and the air feed rate to Qa to keep a proper A/F ratio and maintains those feed rates for a period of time T1. Thereby, the fuel feed rate to vaporizing members 31 and 32 is reduced and the remaining amount of fuel in the vaporizing members 31 and 32 at the time of the succeeding stop of fuel feed can be reduced. The fuel feed is stopped when a period of time T1 elapses, and on the other hand, the reduced air feed rate Qa is kept for a period of time T2 thereafter. As air is supplied and mixed at the reduced feed rate Qa, combustion of residual fuel continues without a considerable fluctuation in A/F ratio.
