PURPOSE: To provide the common use CODEC device and the video equipment connector connecting to the device in which plural television cameras and plural monitors are connected to a line with common CODEC and a video telephone system is built up inexpensively.
CONSTITUTION: The common use CODEC device 100 is provided with a video signal MODEM section 14 sending a video signal through a specific channel on a video signal transmission line 21 provided to an extension side and a voice signal MODEM section 15 sending a voice signal through a specific channel on a voice signal transmission line 22 provided to the extension side, and an object voice telephone set is activated among plural voice telephone sets connecting to the voice signal transmission line through the selection of a channel and an object connector in plural video equipment connectors 12A, 12B connecting to the video signal transmission line is activated and the video signal is sent to a monitor connecting to the selected video equipment connector 12A or 12B and the video signal from a television camera connecting to the video equipment connector is sent to the line via the video signal MODEM 14.
