A communication controller 7 communicates with a wireless tag circuit element 21 provided with a tag antenna 22 which transmits or receives information to or from an IC circuit part 24 stored with information. The communication controller 7 has an antenna 5 which transmits or receives information to or from the wireless tag circuit element 21 through wireless communication, a transmitter 11 which generates a command signal and transmits it to the wireless tag circuit element 21 through the antenna 5, an information acquisition part 12 which receives a response signal transmitted from the wireless tag circuit element 21 and acquires information according to the command signal through the antenna 5, and a prohibition controller 16 which prohibits information acquisition through the information acquisition part 12 from after the transmitter 11 transmits the command signal until a specified waiting time elapses.
