Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device for vehicles which can reduce a possibility of collision with a subsequent vehicle.SOLUTION: A communication device for vehicles comprises: an inter-vehicle communication circuit 107 which executes communication protocol between a self-vehicle 10 and communication devices of peripheral vehicles traveling around the vehicle 10 through an inter-vehicle communication antenna 106, for exchanging various pieces of information such as GPS information on the peripheral vehicles; a collision damage reduction brake system which shifts situations of three stages, for controlling collision damage reduction processing against an obstacle; and a control unit 101 which transmits information which stage among the three stages the collision damage reduction brake system is shifted to, to the peripheral vehicles through the inter-vehicle communication circuit 107.
