Abstract:
To provide a communication device configured to monitor a communication path beyond a tunnel, as well as the tunnel constructed between communication devices, and provide a router, a method, and a program.SOLUTION: A communication device 1A in the present disclosure includes a path state confirmation unit 11 that connects to an opposite communication device to which a communication terminal is connected, to confirm a failure sate of a communication path between the communication device 1A and the communication terminal. The path state confirmation unit 11 transmits a first request message to the communication terminal, and transmits, when no response message to the first request message is received from the communication terminal, a second request message configured so that the lifetime becomes 0 when the message arrives at the opposite communication device, to the communication terminal. The path state confirmation unit 11 determines, when no response message to the second request message is received, that a failure has occurred between the communication device 1A and the opposite communication device, and determines, when a response message is received, that a failure has occurred between the opposite communication device and the communication terminal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
