Abstract:
PURPOSE:To change a transmission mode while the original of one page is transmitted and to shorten a transmission time by transmitting an upper half with a normal mode and transmitting a lower half with a fine mode or a super fine mode when the lower half of the original of one page is a detailed drawing and map. CONSTITUTION:By the width scanning line density designated by a transmission mode designating switch 9a connected to a control device 8a of a device 1a at the transmission side of facsimile equipment 1a and 1b to provide a transmission mode changing function, a scanner 4a reads the original image and the read picture signal is transmitted through a MODEM 3, a line control part 2a and a line to a device 1b at the reception side. The switch 9a selectively designates plural mutually different normal mode, fine mode and super fine mode. The transmission mode during the transmission by respective first and second transmission mode changing switches 11a and 11b is changed, a transmission and reception action is once stopped and transmitted with the fine or super fine mode designated by the switch 9a.
