PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication system and a communication method that can be flexible to increase/decrease in number of participants and effectively utilize a frequency bad without causing quality deterioration in communication data such as sound quality deterioration. SOLUTION: In the communication system of this invention, a plurality of communication terminals conducts group communication connected to a server via a wireless communication channel. The server is provided with a communication data synthesis means that synthesizes a plurality of received communication data, a bandwidth management means that reserves a bandwidth of a wireless communication channel in response to number of communication terminals taking part in the group communication, and a server side transmission means that transmits the synthesized communication data to each communication terminal taking part in the group communication by means of the bandwidth. Each communication terminal is provided with a communication terminal side transmission means that transmits the communication data to the server, a communication terminal side reception means that receives the synthesized communication data from the server, and a reproduction means that reproduces the synthesized communication data.
