Abstract:
To provide a communication network of high reliability such that use efficiency of resources is high.
A plurality of main signal lines are connected between a high-order switching device and a low-order switching device as a low-order device of the high-order switching device, and while M of them are shared as in-use lines, N lines are shared as reserved lines for the M lines. If a main signal line gets out of order between the high-order switching device and low-order switching device, a desired reserved main signal line is selected out of the N reserved main signal lines through exchange of control signals between the high-order switching device and low-order switching device.
