Abstract:
To make IP(internet protocol) communication possible even with a party who does not have an IP address.
An IP address distribution server 13 can communicate with a client 14 in a same segment using a protocol which belongs to a lower level than that of the IP. The IP address distribution server 13 has a function of linking with a name server 11. When an IP address inquired for a host name is not found in the name solution table 111 of the name server 11, an IP address is allocated to the client 14 in accordance with the message from the name server 11. The allocated IP address is communicated to the inquirer through the name server 11.
