A direct current is supplied to a semiconductor DAA 40 by a direct current supply means 90 in a communication terminal apparatus such as a facsimile machine 1, and direct current separation means 32-1, 32-2 are arranged between the direct current supply means 90 and a network 85 so that the supplied direct current does not flow out to the network 85 side. Thereby, even when the communication terminal apparatus such as the facsimile machine 1 using the semiconductor DAA 40 for a line I/F part 30 is connected to the network 85 (e.g. a dedicated line) on which a direct current is not superposed, communication operation can be performed.
