When Internet facsimile (I-FAX) transmission is performed, information of the I-FAX transmission is recorded as a transmission record (S101 to S103) on condition that the transmission is neither replying of MDN nor error reporting. When the transmission is the replying of MDN or error reporting, it is determined whether a message ID of a transmitted message matches a message ID of one message of reception records of I-FAX management information (S101 to S106). When the messages ID matches each other, error reporting transmission or MDN replying is recorded in a reception record having the matching message ID (S109 to S112).
