Title:
COMMUTATION FAILURE DETECTOR FOR CHOPPER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS55147977
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable rapid detection of the commutation failure of a chopper by logically comparing the induced voltage of a commutation reactor or a feedback transformer with the gate control signal of a thyristor. CONSTITUTION:An electric current is supplied from a power supply P through a main thyristor 15, a commutation reactor 16 and a feedback transformer 18 to the field winding 25 of a DC motor having an armature 24. When an auxiliary thyristor 17 is conducted or when the main thyristor 15 is conducted, an induced voltage is produced at the tertiary winding 18a of the transformer 18. Therefore, the operating state of a chopper 23 is detected as a pulse signal by a detector 27. On the other hand, a reference pulse 29a based on the gate signal of on or off signal to the thyristors 15, 17 is generated from a reference pulse generator circuit 29. In case that no detected pulse is produced from the detector 27 even if there is the reference pulse 29a, it is judged as commutation failure by a logic comparator circuit 31.
