To provide a commutator in which an electric wear is reduced by decreasing an electric discharge between a brush and a contact member.
The contact member 71 of the respective segments 61-68 of the commutator 60 has a first contact part 711 ahead of a rotating direction and has a second contact part 712 behind the rotating direction. The second contact part 712 has a contact electric resistance larger than the first contact part 711. Therefore, a current flows the first contact part 711 positively. Thereby, even when a clearance occurs between the brush and the contact member 71 at the rear side of the rotating direction of the contact member 71 by the brush inclination, the current flowing between the brush and the contact member 71 is intercepted by the second contact part 712, and flows the first contact part 711. Therefore, the electric discharge between the brush and the contact member 71 is reduced.
