To provide a commutator capable of improving the fixing strength of a segment and heat dissipating characteristics by an inexpensive structure.
In the disc-shaped commutator 15 in which the metal segment 17 is arranged at the end of a plastic holder 23, a metal cap 26 is mounted to the end of the armature core side of the holder 23. The metal cap 26 comprises: a first ring 27 that is lightly press-inserted to the external periphery of the holder 23; a second ring 28 that is press-inserted to a rotating shaft 13; and a round plate 31 that connects both the rings 27, 28. The first ring 27 is arranged at the external peripheral side of an anchor 30a. The second ring 28 has metal pieces 33 split by a slit 32. Heat generated at the segment 17 is dissipated to the motor rotating shaft from the first ring 27 and the round plate 31 via the second ring 28, while securing the fixing strength between the segment 17 and the holder 23 by the first ring 27.
