Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the electric performance by clamping commutator segments and a commutator cylinder formed of insulators between the segments through the prescribed V-shaped insulator. CONSTITUTION:A V-shaped insulator 11 is formed of an insulator equivalent to or harder than commutator segments 5, and formed so that the weight W of the cylinder necessary for a centrifugal force due to the operation acts equivalently on the oblique surface of the cylinder having an angle theta to the axial direction, i.e., to the working surface M of the clamping force by considering the thermal stress of the segments 5. The axial clamping force F acts as planar pressure to a clamping bolt 8 and a clamping nut 9, but the planar pressure is buffered and compensated by the uniform pressure plate 13 of a mica laminated board 12. With this configuration, the deterioration of commutation caused by the irregular surface of the segments produced by an impact force by the centrifugal force or vibration of the carbon brush at operating time or abnormal wearing of the brush can be prevented.
