To produce the green compact of an amorphous soft magnetic alloy excellent in mechanical strength and without the permeability being singnificantly decreased in the high-frequency region by using a low-softening- point glass as a binder and heating and compacting an amorphous soft magnetic alloy powder at a specified temp. to make it bulky.
A glass powder having a lower softening point than the crystallization temp. of an amorphous soft magnetic alloy is deposited on the surface of the alloy grain to prepare a powder consisting of a composite grain obtained by coating the surface of the alloy grain with a glass, and the obtained composite grain powder is compacted at a temp. higher than the softening temp. of the glass and lower than the crystallization temp. of the alloy. The grains are joined through the glass in the compact, and the ratio of the permeability at 107Hz to that at 104Hz is controlled to ≥0.5.
