Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact steam reforming system which can simplify the whole system and save the costs for the facility and operation, by integrally constituting its constitution units, installing a metal fiber burner as a heat supply source for uniform heating, maximizing the efficiency of a reforming reaction by decreasing the temperature gradient of a catalyst, and increasing the efficiency of energy usage by forming the steam using exhaust combustion gas. SOLUTION: This system is composed of a coil heat exchanger for forming steam and preheating natural gas installed in the internal center of the system, a reforming reactor where the mixing region of steam and the natural gas exists, the cylindrical metal fiber burner which is installed at a specified distance from the reforming reactor in order to supply necessary heat to the heat exchanger and the outside of the reforming reactor, a heat exchanger for controlling the temperature of a low temperature conversion reactor and a high temperature conversion reactor both installed at the outside of the reforming reactor, and the low temperature conversion reactor, and has a passage for preventing overheating and primary preheating of water and the natural gas as reactants.
