Abstract:

PURPOSE: To judge the moving direction of the mirrors of a variable shape mirror in a multidither type compensating optical device by irradiating a laser on a target, and utilizing the phase delay between a dither signal contained in the reflective signal and an oscillator.
CONSTITUTION: A compensating optical device is constituted of a laser, a variable shape mirror, a light converging device, a light detector, a synchronous wave detector, a control device, a variable shape mirror driving power source, and an oscillator, and it is a device to maximize the laser irradiation density on a target. For the purpose, the synchronous wave detector is provided with a phase delay detector 22 and a plus/minus sign discriminator 23 therein, for efficiently moving a plurality of mirrors of the variable shape mirror. It can be discriminated whether respective mirrors of the variable shape mirror are to be moved in the plus direction or the minus direction, by utilizing the phase delay. Further, the device can deal with a moving body, by providing a mechanism to measure the distance to a target and correct the phase delay due to the distance.
