Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide articles of footwear that include modules for sensing physical and/or physiological characteristics.SOLUTION: Devices include: a housing, optionally an asymmetrical housing, for receiving an electronic module 102; release mechanisms for removably installing the module 102 in the housing; and/or activation/authentication systems for selectively activating the module 102. Additionally, methods of making articles of footwear 100 or other structures that include such housings, electronic modules 102, release systems, activation systems, authentication systems, etc. are described.
