To obtain the subject complex which is chemically, biochemically and physicochemically stable and readily treatable and useful as a carcinostatic agent for stomach cancer and acute leukemia by adding a chromophore separated from neocarzinostatin to a hydrophobic polysaccharide.

This complex of chromophore comprises a complex of a chromophore separated from neocarzinostatin of the formula with a hydrophobic polysaccharide (preferably pullulan in to which a cholesterol group is introduced). The complex is obtained is obtained by extracting neocarzinostatin with a solvent mixture comprising methanol with acetic acid to separate the chromophore and mixing the resultant chromophere extract with a water solution of the hydrophobic polysaccharide as hydrogel fine particle. The complex is preferably used in a form of injection.
