Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the titled complex having increased rate of dissolution in water and absorbability through digestive tracts, and having antiarteriosclerotic and gonadotropic activities, etc., by clathrating a cycloartenol ferulic acid ester with cyclodextrin.
CONSTITUTION: A cycloartenol ferulic acid ester and a cyclodextrin (e.g. β- cyclodextrin) are charged to a vessel, mixed with ammonia water, and stirred to obtain a complex. The objective complex can be prepared by evaporating and removing the ammonia water completely from the mixture under reduced pressure. The cycloartenol ferulic acid ester can be prepared by dissolving γ-oryzanol in hot chloroform, and adding methanol to the solution to precipitate the crystals.
