PURPOSE: To provide a composite bearing material significantly improved in wear resistance and durable life in which a sliding layer formed of a specified fluorine-contained polymer having a metal powder hydrophilic to fluorine dispersed therein is bonded to a metal support layer.
CONSTITUTION: In this bearing material, a material in which (A) 5-50 wt.% (hereinafter referred to as %) of a metal powder (e.g.; lead, tin) having a grain size of 40 μm or less which is highly hydrophilic to fluorine is uniformly dispersed in (B) a fluorine-contained polymer formed of 0.5-5% of metal fluoride, 0.5-5% of metal oxyfluoride, 10-25% of polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) crystallized to monoclinic system, 10-40% of amorphous PVD, and 10-30% of another fluorine-contained polymer, containing no PVDF crystallized in orthorhombic system, and satisfying a specified condition in X-ray diffraction projection drawing is used as the material, and a sliding layer 30-500 μm in thickness is bonded to a metal support layer surface by direct bonding, sintering, or spraying.
