To provide the label of a non-foil base for a composite container having a metallic appearance similar to the label of a foil base suitable for use in an EM monitoring device within the container.
The composite container comprises an electromagnetic monitoring device such as EAS or RFID and an outer label without a metal foil layer and/or an inner liner. In one embodiment, the label includes a laminate of a paper layer and at least one polymer film layer, and further has a metal-ink or metal vapor-deposition coating arranged on the inward-facing face of the polymer film layer. The liner comprises the paper layer, a barrier coating film adhered to the inside of the paper layer and a sealant layer arranged on the side of the film opposite to the paper layer, forms the innermost face of the liner. The barrier coating film may include a metal coating film, an aluminum oxide coat film and a silicon oxide coating film or the like.
