PURPOSE: To provide composite crimped yarns capable of giving woven fabrics with moderate stretchability leading to favorable sewability along with wool fabric-like soft puffiness and firm texture and drape characteristics unique to polyester filaments.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composite crimped yarns composed of at least two kinds of multifilament yarns. One kind of them is crimped conjugate multifilament yarns A and each filament is made up of two kinds of mutually conjugated polyester components differing in thermal shrinkage from each other, the yarns A being arranged as the main constituent in the inner layer of the composite yarns. The other kind is crimped multifilament yarns B consisting of a single synthetic polymer component, being arranged as the main component in the outer layer of the composite yarns. Also, the length of the yarns B is 5-35% longer than the yarns A and part of the yarns B is blended with the yarns A in the inner layer, while part of the yarns A is blended with the yarns B in the outer layer.
