Abstract:

To provide a composite, ester-modified starch resin foam board with a low open cell content and a high rigidity and a method for manufacturing it.

The composite, ester-modified starch resin foam board is composed of an ester-modified starch resin foam layer and a film layer which is formed on at least one side of the foam layer, is made of an ester-modified starch resin, an aliphatic polyester resin, or a mixture thereof, and has a tensile modulus at 23°C of ≥400 MPa. The foam board has a thickness of ≥1.0 mm, an apparent density of 50-600 kg/m3, and an open cell content ≤45%.
