Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a conjugate fiber and a woven fabric having a high strength and a high modulus of elasticity and scarcely causing fibrillation or core-sheath peeling. SOLUTION: This conjugate fiber is characterized as comprising a core component composed of (A) a melt anisotropic aromatic polyester and a sheath component composed of (B) a flexible polyester containing 0-10% of the polymer (A) and the intrinsic viscosity [η] of the polyester (B) is >=0.65 (dL/g). The method for producing the conjugate fiber is provided.
