Title:
COMPOSITE IMAGING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1062531
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To facilitate recognition of an object by generating not only an infrared image but also a radar image corresponding to the field angle thereof and displaying them side by side while superposing.

An infrared image is subjected to photoelectric conversion by image pickup elements in an infrared image pickup section 1 for each element and delivered to an image processing section 4. A radar image is received at a radar transmitting/receiving section 2 which delivers a reflection signal to a signal processing section 5. Signals are then delivered from the image processing section 4 and the signal processing section 5 to an image synthesizing section 6. Furthermore, positional information of the radar image with respect to the azimuth field central axis of the infrared image is inputted from a field position sensor section 3 to the image synthesizing section 6. The image synthesizing section 6 calculates the pixel range of the radar image corresponding to the pixel of the infrared image based on the field position information and known information, e.g. the number of pixels at the radar transmitting/receiving section and the infrared image pickup section displays the infrared image and the radar image at an image displaying section 7 while superposing.
