To manufacture moldings which are lightweight and show high strength and further high heat insulating properties and outstanding acoustic properties by forming an outer layer of an inorganic material layer and an inner layer of a porous material layer having communicating pores.
A porous material layer 2 which is rectangular in cross section and platelike is introduced into a die and the periphery of the porous material layer 2 is coated with a material for an inorganic material layer in the die to manufacture a composite laminate 10. This laminate 10 is formed of an inorganic material layer 11 as an outer layer and the porous material layer 2 as an inner layer. The porous material layer 2 is manufactured of a foamed polystyrene resin raw material magnified 60-fold using an asphalt emulsion and an acrylic emulsion. In this case, a communicating space is formed between foamed particles and next, 3-5 mm dia. facing pores 13, for example, are opened at an interval of about 15-30 mm in the inorganic material layer 11 using a drill. Thus it is possible to manufacture moldings which are lightweight and show high strength and further high heat insulating properties and outstanding acoustical properties.
